Our Mission:

The Las Guias Auxiliary is a part of Casa de Rancho Cucamonga Historical Society. Las Guias was created to help facilitate the restoration of the House. When the County decided to keep the house, manpower was needed to make the restoration a reality, they serve as the Docents for the John Rains house, and provide other support activity as needed for the Society.

The Casa de Rancho Cucamonga Historical Society, was organized March 9, 1972. The objective of the Society is the discovery, collection, preservation, and publication of the history, and historical records, relating to the Rancho Cucamonga area; the preservation and restoration of historic buildings, and the marking of historic spots; the collection and preservation of books, newspapers, maps, genealogies, and any and all materials which may establish or illustrate such history of the growth and progress of population, wealth, education, agriculture, arts, manufacturing, and commerce in said area.

There is a great and pressing need for this preservation. The Pioneers are passing. They have the knowledge of these early events, important places, dates, and names. These will be lost ,unless immediate steps are taken to get accurate records. Commercial growth and expansion has wiped out many landmarks, and will take still others unless we act before its too late. It is historically and economically important that we preserve the glory, inspiration and achievements of the early history of Californian and particularly the Rancho Cucamonga area.

Volunteers Needed!

All persons interested in the work of the Las Guias, or the Casa de Rancho Cucamonga Historical Society toward preserving and restoring the fast disappearing historical landmarks of our area are cordially invited to become members, and participate in all its interesting and worthwhile activities.

Currently we are in need of more Docents and Crafters to make crafts for sale in the gift shop
